Gallery: Collage Work/Phrases & Photographs

I’ve been moving in a direction of collage work for sometime. Phrases and colored glass and photographs! OH MY! If the thought of snipping into a treasured family photo makes you anxious, know that color photocopies work just as well!

Grandfather Oak Remembered:

I created this piece for my Mom’s upcoming birthday.   She and my Dad used to have a view of this magnificent oak tree from their breakfast nook.  Each day they would sit and watch the wildlife, the changes in the leaves. We used to have a huge bulldog who would sit outside under it’s shade.  My brother was kind enough to gather leaves and take a few photos for me before the house was listed for sale.  The leaves became patterns and the oak tree will live on in Mom’s new kitchen.  I think a little bit of Dad will be there too!

House of Fun Mirror:
I took some of our zaniest little kid moments and combined them to create a one of a kind mirror that generates big smiles each time we view it.

This was a sample I made for a workshop donation for our local Zonta International club. Zonta supports women in education throughout the world and the woman in the photo is one of their founding members, the yellow rose their symbol.
